Book Boiler Repair

Your area

why service it

A working boiler isn't
the same as a safe one.

Most boilers don't break down because they're old.
They break down because nobody's looked at them in three years.

Lower
bills.

A serviced boiler runs up to 15% more efficiently. That's €150 to €300 a year off your heating bill.

Warranty
kept alive.

Almost every manufacturer requires an annual service. Skip it and you void your warranty.

Carbon monoxide
is silent.

An annual service is the only reliable way to catch a CO leak before it becomes a problem.

Add-on for only · €35

Your boiler is only one
part of the system.

A boiler service checks the boiler.
A system check looks at everything it's connected to.

Most heating problems aren't caused by the boiler itself. They're caused by what's around it: radiators that aren't heating fully, valves that are stuck, pressure that's drifting, a timer that's set wrong, or a thermostat that's reading the wrong temperature. You can have a perfectly serviced boiler and still have a house that won't heat evenly, bills that are higher than they should be, and rooms that never seem to warm up.

A full system check covers all of this in one visit, while the engineer is already in your home. It takes about 20 minutes on top of the standard service and costs €35. Most people who add it on tell us they should have done it years ago.

Radiators.

Every radiator checked for cold spots, airlocks, and sludge build-up. Cold patches at the bottom usually mean sludge is reducing efficiency by up to 25%.

Valves.

Thermostatic radiator valves and lockshield valves tested. Stuck valves are the most common reason one room heats and another doesn't.

System
Pressure.

Checked and adjusted if needed. Low pressure means your boiler works harder for less heat. High pressure puts strain on seals and joints.

Timer and
Thermostat.

Settings reviewed and calibrated. A thermostat reading 2°C wrong or a timer set to heat an empty house will cost you hundreds a year without you ever knowing.

Straight answers

Everything you're
actually wondering.

We've heard all of these on the phone.
No sales waffle, just the real answers.

What you're thinking
It's working. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. A service just feels like paying for nothing.
What actually happens
By the time it's not fine, you're looking at a €400+ repair bill, a cold house, and a weekend waiting on parts. A service is €99. Skipping one also usually voids your warranty, which is the expensive bit nobody tells you.
The usual story
"From €X". Then a call-out fee. Then VAT. Then the "while I'm here" add-ons. The bill on the day is never the number you were quoted.
The way we do it
The number on this page is the number you pay. €99, €109, €119 or €129 depending on where you are. If a part genuinely needs replacing we quote it first. Nothing happens without your say-so.
What you dread
Engineer arrives, half an hour of "your boiler's on its last legs", a quote for €3,500, pressure to decide on the spot.
What you get
We service boilers. That's the job. We're not on commission. If yours is genuinely at end of life we'll tell you, and then we'll leave. If it has five years left, we'll say that too.
The fear
Someone turns up in an unmarked van, no paperwork, you've no idea if they're certified to touch gas.
The reality
We're Registered Gas Installers, which is a legal requirement to work on gas in Ireland. Our RGI number is 245357W and you can check it yourself at rgii.ie. Fergal Warren is a real person, not a call centre, with 30+ years in the area.
What it's usually like
"Between 9 and 5". You take the day off. They show up at 4:40. You've wasted a holiday.
What we actually do
You pick morning (8 to 12) or afternoon (12 to 5). You get a text an hour before the engineer arrives so you're not glued to the window. A standard service takes around 45 minutes.
The nightmare
Engineer finds a "problem", fits a €200 part without asking, hands you a bill triple what you agreed.
How it works here
We stop, we tell you, we quote. Nothing extra gets fitted without you saying yes first. If you'd rather leave it and think about it, that's fine. You still only pay the price for the service we came to do.
The assumption
Old boiler = money pit. Better to save the €99 and put it towards a new one when the old one dies.
The truth
An old boiler with a yearly service will usually outlive a newer boiler that's been ignored. Worst case, we'll give you an honest view on how long it has left so you can plan rather than panic.
The confusion
Nobody's sure whose responsibility it is. The service gets skipped year after year until something goes wrong.
The facts
If you're a landlord, you're legally required to service the boiler annually. We'll email the service report direct to you, even if the tenant lets us in. If you're a tenant, check with your landlord, they should be paying for this.

Questions.

The full job: flue gas analysis, burner and heat exchanger inspection and clean, checks on all seals and safety devices, gas or oil pressure readings, controls and thermostat operation, and a carbon monoxide check. You get every reading on your report, not just a tick in a box.
Yes, both. Gas boilers are covered under our RGI registration, and we've been servicing oil boilers across Clare and Limerick just as long. Same price, same booking process, just tell us which one you have when you book.
Just make sure we can get at the boiler. If it's in a press, clear a bit of space in front of it. If it's in an attic or out in a shed, make sure there's safe access. That's it. Kettle on is optional but appreciated.
All the usual suspects: Vokera, Worcester Bosch, Baxi, Ideal, Vaillant, Ferroli, Glow-worm, Grant, Firebird and plenty more. If you've something unusual, mention it when booking and we'll confirm before you pay a cent.
Yes. A full service report is emailed to you the same day, with every reading recorded. That's what keeps your manufacturer's warranty valid, and it's accepted by insurers and letting agents too. Landlords: we'll send it straight to you even if your tenant lets us in.
Once a year. That's what manufacturers require to keep the warranty alive, and it's the legal requirement for landlords. Most people book it just before winter, so if you want a pre-Christmas slot, book early — that's our busiest stretch.
Life happens. Give us a ring or reply to your confirmation email and we'll move it, no charge, no drama. We'd just ask for a day's notice where possible so the slot can go to someone else.
Yes, give us a call rather than booking online so we can get a sense of what's wrong and get to you faster. Repairs are quoted before any work starts, so you'll know the cost up front, same as everything else we do.

Your home is
in safe hands.
